Official and school exam preparation in Barcelona

At Hugschool, a language school in El Clot (Sant Martí, Barcelona), we prepare the main official English, Spanish and Catalan exams as well as Primary, ESO and Bachilleratoexams. We work in small groups, using the real format of each exam and marked mock tests, so you walk in knowing exactly what to expect.

Cambridge English and IELTS

Our Cambridge exam preparation in Barcelona covers every level: Young Learners (Starters, Movers and Flyers), A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. We practise every paper —Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening and Speaking— with official tasks and individual feedback. If you need English to study or work abroad, we also prepare IELTS Academic and General Training.

DELE and SIELE: Spanish certificates

For international students we offer DELE preparation (A1 to C2) and SIELEpreparation. DELE is an official Instituto Cervantes diploma that never expires, and DELE A2 is the level required to apply for Spanish citizenship. SIELE is a computer-based exam with fast results and a score linked to CEFR levels.

Catalan certificates and CEFR levels

We prepare Catalan certificates and CPNLcourses from A1 to C2, essential for many public-sector exams and jobs in Catalonia. All our language courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), so you always know your level and your next step.

School, secondary and PAU exams

Cambridge English (Young Learners to C2 Proficiency), IELTS, DELE and SIELE for Spanish, and Catalan certificates from A1 to C2 (CPNL). We also prepare Primary, ESO and Bachillerato school exams and the PAU.

The CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) divides language ability into six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. Universities and employers usually ask for B2 or C1. A level test tells you where you are and which exam suits you.

DELE is a diploma for a specific level (A1 to C2), taken on paper on fixed dates, and it never expires. SIELE is a computer-based exam scored from 0 to 1000 and linked to levels A1 to C1; results come faster and the certificate is valid for 5 years.

To apply for Spanish citizenship you need DELE A2 or higher, plus the constitutional and sociocultural knowledge test (CCSE). We prepare you for DELE A2 with mock versions of the real exam.

It depends on your starting level and the exam. As a guide, moving up one CEFR level usually takes a school year. After the level test we suggest a realistic exam date.
